SAP Business One the logical next step for Interlogix.
Interlogix, a company based near the Durban harbour, have carved a niche in the freight forwarding market by specialising in logistics relating to mining equipment in and around South Africa.
Interlogix was Bluekey’s first site in Durban to use the Boyum B1UP solution extension which facilitated a high degree of customisation in a very short time. B1UP allowed the generic Sales Opportunities module to be transformed for freight tracking to create an integrated freight and financial solution.
Financial Director, Thomas Sage explains: “The key to our success has been a very aggressive sales strategy. In the old system keeping track of projects proved really difficult. Information for each project was kept in folders and could accumulate to more than 100 pages, which were tracked in Excel.”
With SAP Business One it is so simple and straight forward that Thomas finds it hard to understand why they had carried on doing it the old way for so long.
The Durban team can be proud of a very successful project. It provides an excellent case study of how SAP Business One can be modified to create an industry solution. It’s also a story of a company willing to embrace change, and having the vision and energy to implement it. Because of the active involvement of Interlogix staff in the project they were able to shave 8 days off the budget (around 20% savings in implementation costs) with the added advantage of tremendous internal up-skilling.
